Rydal, from where I began my walk heading up to Nab Scar.

A dull view back down over Windermere.

The day was not wasted, here I managed to get the reference I needed of the aqueduct stone.

I took shelter in the lee of the summit cairn as the rain passed through- hopefully.

My intention was to head on up to Heron Pike but as can be seen in this view I couldn't even see the summit. Reluctantly I abandoned the plan and headed directly back to Rydal. Not exactly a wasted afternoon but frustrating at this stage of the project when time is of the essence.

I promise my next day out will be better!
