It was now just after 9pm
and the sun was sinking in the west over the Eden Valley.

Even though the light was
pretty good at this time I decided to hang around to see if it improved.

The lower half of the
line-up. The central cairn of the nine (seen here on the right) is the
biggest at about 12' high.

A view from the east side.

The light was improving.

Even though it was a warm evening there was
quite a strong wind, the advantage to this was that the clouds rushed past
quickly including some which were just over head.

Pink glowing clouds.

Worth the wait, the cairns now take on a
warm glow.

The light changed all the time.

and it was about to fade.

one last glint of sun.

Within minutes the colours had gone.

What made this walk a bit special was the
fact that it was Bailey's first walk completely "off-lead" and he behaved
admirably.

Last flourish of colour over Tailbridge
Hill as we return to the car. This was a fairly straight- forward "there
and back" walk but well worth it for the views and the sunset.
