29th May 2011, Lingmoor Fell

 A short afternoon walk from the head of Great Langdale. Fortunately the early morning rain had cleared making for a very pleasant if breezy afternoon.

An easy footpath passes the west side of the tarn.

Lingmoor Fell

Lingmoor Fell from Blea Tarn. Our route of descent later is the ridge to the right of the tree lined gill.

Lingmoor Fell path

 From Side Pike there is a narrow path to the top of Lingmoor Fell.

The Squeeze Lingmoor fell

Bailey heads through "The Squeeze", a flake of rock that adds interest to the route.

Looking back to Side Pike. From here instead of the direct route to the summit we followed the contouring path round to the tarn.

Oak How Needle

A bit of descent from the tarn found us at Oak How Needle, another reference ticked off.

Langdale

Great Langdale with Bowfell, Great End and Allen Crags to the left of the Pikes.

A short walk soon found us at the summit.

A popular place. We were now heading down in the direction of the tree lined gill.

Wetherlam

An easy descent gets us back to the road near Blea Tarn House and a short walk back to the car.

A great way to spend an hour or so in one of the areas most popular valleys.
