Langdale Pikes from near
the Blea Tarn Car Park.

Blea Tarn.

An easy footpath passes
the west side of the tarn.

Lingmoor Fell from Blea
Tarn. Our route of descent later is the ridge to the right of the tree
lined gill.

Mickleden from the slopes
of Side Pike.

Langdale Pikes from Side
Pike.

Heading up to Side Pike.

Sunshine and shadows on
the Pikes.

From Side
Pike there is a narrow path to the top of Lingmoor Fell.

Bailey heads through "The Squeeze", a
flake of rock that adds interest to the route.

Zeta follows us through.

Looking back to Side Pike. From here
instead of the direct route to the summit we followed the contouring path
round to the tarn.

Lingmoor Tarn.

A bit of descent from the tarn found us
at Oak How Needle, another reference ticked off.

Bailey poses on a "Wainwright Rock".

Great Langdale with Bowfell, Great End
and Allen Crags to the left of the Pikes.

Lingmoor Tarn from above.

A short walk soon found us at the summit.

A popular place. We were now heading down
in the direction of the tree lined gill.

Langdale Pikes from the ridge down.

Bowfell from near the same place.

An easy descent gets us back to the road
near Blea Tarn House and a short walk back to the car.
A great way to spend an hour or so in one of the areas most popular
valleys.
