5th November 2008 . Low Fell and Fellbarrow.

The start of a week over in the Western fells area of the Lake District saw us fitting in an afternoon walk on Low fell and Fellbarrow. The weather was dry but overcast but the views over to Crummock Water made up for the weather.

We set off from the quiet village of Thackthwaite.

From Low Fell we headed to Darling Fell summit shown here. Mellbreak on the right.

We took a direct route towards Fellbarrow from Darling Fell. It gave us this good view of Hen Comb over Loweswater.

We returned to Thackthwaite via the ruins at Hatteringill. Mellbreak's distinctive outline towards the south. A simple walk for a couple of hours which takes in a couple of the Loweswater fells.
