10th May 2009 Troutbeck Tongue

My plan for a long single walk was changed due to low cloud. Instead I had two shorter routes as a fallback option, this is the first, a short route taking the lower fell of Troutbeck Tongue.

The lane from Town Head. Troutbeck Tongue is the rise just above the barn.

Balancing act.

Park Quarry, Thresthwaite Mouth just shows under the cloud.

The quarry with a cloud covered Ill Bell ridge above.

The old pair of shelters on the ridge up to Troutbeck Tongue summit. I was back here due to the fact that last time I didn't get the right angle for the sketch.

On the summit.

Slate bridge over Troutbeck.

The delightful falls of Troutbeck.

Troutbeck Park Farm.

Cottage at Troutbeck Park Farm. The farm was owned at one time by Beatrice Potter.

A National Trust organised walling party.

The Tongue seen from the lane.

Laneside Bluebells and Greater Stitchwort. The weather had improved so fro  here I set off to do another route.
