I did a short walk from Threlkeld into Gate Gill in the
hope the cloud would lift off Blencathra.

Middle Tongue, Gate Gill.

Zeta ready for a dip.

Old mine level Gate Gill.

Gate Gill. The water has been channelled under the mine
spoil heap.

I then headed to the Field centre to the west of Threlkeld. St. John's in
the Vale catches the light.

After leaving the car park there soon is a fine view of
Latrigg.

Lonscale Fell.

Great Calva and the Glenderaterra valley.

Waterfall in Sinen Gill.

Skiddaw House with Bakestall behind.

The remnants of the stone man as I head over to Roughten
Gill.

Upper waterfalls in Roughten Gill.

Roughten Gill and Lonscale Fell.

After a bit of "bog-trotting", Zeta is the first to
reach the cairn at the highest point of Mungrisdale Common. (I hesitate to
call it a summit or a top.) Bowscale Fell in cloud shadow behind.

Blencathra still shrouded in cloud behind the cairn.

Heading West off the fell takes you past the second
stone man....

..and then the Cloven Stone. I continues west past The
Stake to pick up the path from Skiddaw House and head south.

Afternoon light. Helvellyn range on the far left and
Steel fell away in the distance on the right.

Behind Latrigg the sun sinks over the North western
fells.
