21st. May 2009 Bakestall

Re-tracing some of the route we had done earlier in the week we ventured up into the Dash valley to take in the summit of Bakestall.

Leaving the car park near Peter House Farm

The Dash Valley.

Up to our right were Dead Crags, later we would descend this steep slope via the path which can just be made out in the centre of the picture.

Dash Farm.

Still plenty of water in Dash Falls.

Looking to Binsey from Birkett Edge.

Dead Crags.

Another one of our list. From here we descended via Dead Beck- hopefully not an ominous name.

The ruined square sheep fold.

The steep descent down to the valley floor and the return to the start. A nice simple route to achieve this fell which is usually taken en-route to Skiddaw. From here we headed round to our third walk of the day.
