22nd. May 2009 Skiddaw Little Man

I made use of my "chauffeur" to do this route and save me a mile or two. We headed up once again to Gale Road end as there were some pictures that I needed to get from a route back on to Skiddaw Little Man.

Brooding skies.

Howell Monument and the path to Skiddaw.

The falls in White Beck. A steep sided ravine which called for a bit of care.

Sunshine on the Catbells ridge from the approach to Skiddaw Little Man.

Derwentwater from the summit. Now I had to descend to Applethwaite.

The view down from the two boulders on the steep heather slopes of the fell.

The curious mound which AW indicates in the chapter of Skiddaw Little Man.

Crossing the gill.

Coledale across the valley.

The path to the fell above Applethwaite. After being picked up by my chauffeur we only had to travel a short distance to start our next walk.
