28th November 2008 . Hartsop Above How.

We were able to just get in a short walk today so I opted for a simple route to the top of Hartsop Above How in the Eastern Fells. more snow had fallen since my visit on the Tuesday but low cloud obscured any views.

From the path that leads out above Low Wood there is a splendid view down on to Hartsop. At the bottom of the picture you can see when the river burst its banks a few weeks ago and now floods the fields.

Away to the north Great Mell Fell is in sun.

Kirkstone Pass to the south.

It wasn't long before we were in low cloud.

Never to cold for a dip.

Zeta on the summit.

Lunch before heading off the hill.

Heading back the we got beneath the cloud to see sunshine on the flanks of Place Fell. Not a brilliant walk for photographs but a good leg stretch to a simple fell top.
