The Nab and Rest Dodd as we head onwards.

Looking back to Beda Fell.

The approach to Angletarn Pikes.

A dull and damp summit shot on Angletarn Pikes.

We skirted round the boggy hollow between the two
summits of the Pikes.

Angle Tarn. Our next objective was Brock Crags on the
far side of the water.

Martindale.

Rest Dodd. Here we turned west towards Brock Crags.

Nearing Brock Crags summit.

A wild and windy Brock Crags summit

The female half of the team.

It may have been dull but there were come lovely shafts
of light breaking through the low cloud.

One of the outlets of Angle Tarn.

Angletarn Pike north top.

Looking into Patterdale. The western path that takes us
to Boardale Hause is narrow in places but gives great views over to the
eastern fells.

Light over Brotherswater.

The route to Place Fell.
Hallin Fell through Boardale Hause.

Place Fell. A couple of years ago Fix the Fells repaired
the path up to Place Fell, at the time it looked like a nasty scar now, as
you can see, it has blended in rather well.

Sunrays over Birks.

Passing though Boardale Hause the sun behind us was dramatic.

Over to the east Wether Hill is cloud capped.

The light gets better.

Gaining height.

Here you can see the repaired path on the slopes of Place Fell, easy to
walk on and stable.

Into the light.

Place Fell "gully", a real wind tunnel.

Patterdale light.

Approaching Place Fell summit

The summit cairn.

Afternoon light on Gowbarrow and the Mell Fells as we descend to the north
east.

High Dodd from Low Moss sheepfold. from here we headed east to descend by
the gill.

The gill is very interesting with several falls and the water course
unusually splits into two.

The steep descent is marked as a route in Place Fell 4 but it is hardly
used and the path is just a line of grass through the bracken

Old barn in Boardale near Nettleslack. Soon we were back on the valley
road.

"It wasn't us!"
A short stroll back to the car now after a good walk out
onto these far easten fells. The weather could have been better but the
patches of light made up for it.
