13th September 2011.- Cow Green

This short "there and back" walk was just really to get myself out for an hour or so on an afternoon. The recent windy weather had died down slightly but there were still heavy squally showers passing through the dale.

I was expecting the water to be coming down the face of the dam after the recent rain.

This series of falls is reputedly the longest in the country.

The Pennine Way follows the left bank and you can make out the path as it rounds the bend before ascending on the far side of the snout.

A lot of Red Grouse reside in this area.

Murky towards Great Dun Fell.

Meldon Hill

Heather and Meldon Hill.

Plenty of interest in such a small area and easy walking along the track, well worth a visit when in Teesdale.
