15th. January 2010.

Still very cold here in Teesdale so I took the chance to do a short walk up to the Low Force area. Today was our first day out with Bailey our new dog. He shows lots of promise but is currently "under training".

Red Grouse in trees

Returning home over Cotherstone Moor I spotted these roosting birds.

Red Grouse in tree

The harsh winter has forced the red grouse into the trees to feed on the berries.

Very unusual to get a view of a Red Grouse from this angle!

Red Grouse on a wall, an added bonus for me as we head home.
