An easy route that takes not much more than an hour. Beginning outside the Fox and Hounds Pub in the neat Teesdale village of Cotherstone.

Not many folk about at 8am.

Rose covered cottages line the main street.

Front gardens are starting to look their best.

The Old Mill by the River Balder

Doe Park.

The old railway viaduct over the Balder, this is where we are heading.

Now on the Tees Railway Walk.

The viaduct over the river.
.
and an aerial view of the river.

Wild Rose by the old line.

A Teesdale Farmstead.

Even Red Clover and Buttercups brighten the landscape.

The walk is easy going on the level.

A good variety of wild flowers on the way.

Into the back lanes of the village

The water pump which is near where I started. *Update 5th July. by coincidence this old pump has now been removed, maybe for ever. How fortunate I was to capture it on film.
