6th January 2008- Holwick and High Force.

A winters day walk in Teesdale. We began at Holwick before heading up over the Green Trod where we turned to join the Pennine Way and headed downstream past High Force.

Holwick Lodge.

 

The path passes below Holwick Scars.

Cronkley Fell and the Tees from Holwick Moor.

 

From the Green Trod we turned down on to the Pennine Way, here protected by a walkway.

 

The roadstone quarry on the bank of the Tees.

 

Water plunges over the edge of High Force.

 

Sunshine and shadow over High Force.

 

Further downstream Low Force channels the Tees. from here we headed up through the pastures to Holwick and our start point.
