The sketches shown here are the images that I have so far produced for this "Wainwright". The views are taken from the exact spot where A.W. stood to illustrate his seven pictorial guides. The comparative views are mainly different due to the time of day, weather conditions and seasonal differences. The originals of my sketches are approximately twice as wide and twice as high as A.W's pen and ink drawings. I have added notes to give more information to each sketch. All images are the copyright of the artist. To obtain these references has required 1 day of walking: 10/11/08 (click on the dates to see the photos) Caw Fell 2288' (Caw Fell 1 awaiting reference)

Water intake Works, Worm Gill. 5/11/08 This small building was quicker to sketch than to get too, however as another view of these works also appear in the Lank Rigg chapter it was a worthwhile visit.

The summit. 11/11/08 The summit of the fell was cloaked in low cloud on this day. Fortunately the view of the cairn was all that was required, perhaps the weather was the same on AW's visit. The stones of the cairn are mainly of a very rich red in colour.
(Caw Fell 11b in progress) more sketches to follow shortly.
