From Mosedale. 11/11/08 After some heavy rain the sun makes a fleeting appearance. This location is slightly off path on the western slopes of Mellbreak.
From Ennerdale Water. 23/2/10 At the time of his drawing AW would have been standing close to the Anglers Hotel. His theory that once demolished a new hotel would have been built on higher ground never materialised. It must have been a super location for the hotel with fine views down the lake.
Floutern Tarn. 10/9/09 Nearing the summit of Floutern Pass from the Mosedale side is this view of the tarn.
The summit north cairn? 10/9/09 The large north cairn "a landmark for miles" AW, has now been completely demolished and all that remains is a scattering of stones most of which are orange in colour.
The Summit. 10/9/09 The trig point on the south top with the High Stile Ridge beyond.
Bowness Knott. 12/11/08 This small cairn sits tucked into the heather. In Wainwrights day the area was being covered by newly planted trees, today those same trees are being harvested to once again open up the fine views of Ennerdale from this point. Fell complete.
