All images are the copyright of the artist. To obtain these references has required 2 days of walking: 2/8/09, 24/8/09, (click on the dates to see the photos) Green Crag 1602'
From Birker Fell. 2/8/09 Light on the rough outline of the fell. Behind is the outline of Harter Fell, something that AW omitted from his drawing, possibly not wanting to detract from the featured hill.
From Boot. 2/8/09 I must have not been concentrating when looking for this reference as initially I went up to near Eel Tarn but once there realised I was too far north. A second short walk out of Boot village got me to the correct location.
Approach from Eskdale. 24/08/09 On the path close to Tarn Crag this scene comes into view not long after passing the peat hut.
Low Birker Peat Hut. 24/8/09 Sadly the hut has lost its roof but the walls still stand firm.
The Summit. 24/8/09 The cairn remains fairly small, I have included the backdrop of the Scafells.
Fell complete.
