Andy Beck- The Wainwrights in colour.

The sketches shown here are the images that I have so far produced for this "Wainwright". The views are taken from the exact spot where A.W. stood to illustrate his seven pictorial guides. The comparative views are mainly different due to the time of day, weather conditions and seasonal differences. The originals of my sketches are approximately twice as wide and twice as high as A.W's pen and ink drawings. I have added notes to give more information to each sketch.

Kidsty Pike 24/6/08

Even though A.W. has this titled "from Twopenny Crag", the actual location is from near the signpost marked in Rampsgill Head 4. I spent a fair amount of time on Twopenny crag trying to locate the foreground rocks but to no avail, eventually coming across them to the north.

Unchanged since A.W's day, Selside Pike in the distance.

There has grown a larger cairn, more to the left than when A.W. observed the same view.

A.W. exaggerated the top of Selside Pike where as I have made it more realistic in shape.

This Fell is now complete.
