Emma Gray

A new artist to the gallery Emma who lives and works here in Teesdale produces beautiful work in silver and other metals and incorporates precious and semi-precious stones.

Following a weekend course in jewellery at West Dean College, Chichester in 1995, Emma continued her studies in Thailand learning to use the basis local tools with the help of local silversmiths. This was followed by a period of work in New Zealand before returning to the U.K. and undertaking courses in enamelling and etching in Hammersmith and a stone setting course in Birmingham, continuing to gain experience in technical knowledge and use of materials. Each hand-made piece is totally unique and Emma enjoys exploring the different aspects and contrasts between various metals and minerals.
