11th February 2008- Upper Swaledale

Making the most of the fine weather I took myself over to Swaledale to re-visit an area that I don't get too very often. Even though the weather was bright and warm, there was quite a bit of haze and the smoke from heather-burning didn't help! Still, a good day out with ideas for future paintings.

A busy day in Muker, after all it was half-term.

Looking back down the dale from above Muker.

Great Shunner Fell and the Buttertubs pass road.

Heading up towards Kisdon Hill.

Joining the Pennine Way.

From the side of Kisdon. Hazy but still a great view of the dale.

Across the valley to Swinner Gill.

Zooming in on the mine workings and Crackpot Hall.

The village of Keld. This view always beings back interesting memories for me as it was in this graveyard that I helped to dig one of the graves, but that's another story!

Keld lodge, the former  Youth Hostel has now been given a new life by Tony and Linda. I'll certainly be calling back.
