The first route on the fourth day of a week in the North Western Fells of the Lake District. We based ourselves in Lorton in the campsite of The Wheatsheaf Inn, a convenient location to reach all 29 of these hills.
Castle Crag is a lone fell that we went for this morning. To get the references I needed it meant that I would take an unusual route up this popular crag. We parked in Grange and headed through Peace How, past Hollows farm, following the river to the quarries and caves on the Rosthwaite side before joining the main route to the top.
