23rd July 2008 An evening on Grange Fell and Great Crag.
I was hoping that we would enjoy the evening sun on a summers walk over two of the Central Fells. It was not to be. The sun only appeared briefly as we left Rosthwaite in Borrowdale and headed up towards Grange Fell. Consequently the photographs are not of the highest quality for which I apologise. We still enjoyed a very pleasant walk though.

Leaving Borrowdale behind we headed up the Watendlath Path. |

The boggy enclosures on our way to Great Crag. Bog Asphodel in profusion.
|
|
The Asphodel is well suited to the peaty wet areas of the upland fells.

The light was now fading as we headed off the hill. Still great views of Eagle and Sergeants Crags.
