25th December 2008 . Carrock Fell and High Pike.

Christmas Day usually sees us out on the fells and 2008 was no different. Today we headed for the Northern Fells to cover Carrock Fell and High Pike both of which were new to us.

We parked near Mosedale Moss before heading up the slopes of Carrock Fell.

Working our way along the eastern escarpment.

By the time we reached the cairn on the east peak we were engulfed in low cloud.

As we headed to Miton Hill brief glimpses of sun appeared.

A short detour took in Round Knott from where we continued to High Pike via Miton Hill.

"Seat Occupied" on High Pike.

After Christmas Day lunch on High Pike we set off South and picked up the Cumbria Way path.
