9th November 2008 . Crag Fell and Grike..

Another dull and overcast day but with at least a fairly high cloud base we were able to take in a couple of fells. Parking at the western end of Ennerdale Water an hour or twos effort would get us up and over Crag Fell and Grike.

The High Stile range from the weir at Ennerdale Water.

The shore path which soon heads up to the right to the col above Anglers Crag, top right.

Ennerdale from Anglers Crag. Pillar etc had a dusting of snow.

Near the Crag Fell Pinnacles.

no title needed, make up your own.

Crag Fell summit.

From Crag Fell we followed AW's ridge route to Grike via the old mine road which leads alongside the forest. The hillside wall on the right would lead up towards Caw Fell.

The fairly uninteresting top of Grike. The left cairn is the main one as illustrated by AW (Grike 5) but the other "baby" ones have been incorporated into the new one on the right.

From the summit we headed down to the sheepfold to pick up the path at the top of Ben Gill.

Following the wall back to the lake shore path. Great Bourne on the left.

Taking the path by the lake back to the start.
